MIAMI (March 7, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team faced Conference USA foe WKU at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Saturday night. The Panthers fell to the Hilltoppers 91-85 in the final game of the regular season.
With the loss, FIU moves to 18-13 overall and 9-9 in conference play. WKU goes to 20-10 this season and 13-5 against league teams.
The Panthers began the contest shooting 50% from the field and 41.2% from three. The squad scored 11 points off eight turnovers, but at the half, both teams were tied 47-47. Individually, Isaiah Banks and Trejon Jacob posted 10 points each in the opening stanza while Devon Andrews had a team-best three rebounds.
Coming out of the break, FIU struggled shooting 32.3% in the half. The team was outscored by WKU 44-38 and fell 91-85 in the final game of the regular season.
The team closed out the contest shooting 42% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Jacob led the Panthers with 18 points in the loss. Andrews (12), Banks (17), and Osasumwen Osaghae (11) also posted double-figure scoring on Saturday.
