MIAMI (July 16, 2020) – FIU women's basketball head coach Jesyka Burks-Wiley announced the latest addition to the 2020-21 roster as Liz Satter joins the Panthers.

Satter, a 6-2 forward from Glencoe, Illinois, heads to FIU after spending her undergrad career at the University of Pennsylvania.

"Liz brings an incredible knowledge base, as far as basketball IQ, and a championship program having attended Penn," Head Coach Burks-Wiley said. "What Liz will bring to the program culturally will help us make huge strides forward."

Satter only played in two games with Penn, both coming as a true freshman, before sitting out the next three years due to injury. While with Penn, Satter was a part of three championship squads.

Prior to her collegiate career, Satter served as team captain at Loyola Academy and helped her team to a title at the 2016 Red Mountain Holiday Tournament in Mesa, Arizona. She was selected as part of the 2016 Red Mountain Holiday Tournament All-Star Team for her efforts. Satter was selected to play in the 2016 Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) All-Star Game and was a 2016 AP All-State Honorable Mention, Chicago Tribune All-Area First Team and JWC Media All-Area First Team honoree. In addition, Satter was named to the 2015 JWC Media All-Area Second Team. She was also chosen as the Loyola Academy team MVP, Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) All-Conference Team and New Trier Tournament All-Star Team selection in back-to-back years.

FIU enters its first season in the Burks-Wiley era, as she becomes the eighth coach in the program's history. Burks-Wiley joins the Panthers after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the South Florida Bulls. FIU will be the sixth coaching stop for Burks-Wiley, as the former professional forward has spent time at Nebraska-Omaha (2012-13), UMass-Lowell (2013-14), Brown (2014-16), Boston College (2016-17) and USF (2017-20).

During her three seasons on Jose Fernandez's staff at USF, Burks-Wiley and the Bulls won 64 games and earned two postseason berths with a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and the WNIT in 2019. The highlight year for Burks-Wiley and the Bulls came in her first season on the staff, as USF went 26-8 in 2017-18. The 26 wins for USF were the third-most of Fernandez's 20-year tenure.
