MIAMI (July 9, 2020) - A total of 12 FIU swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team this week, further proving the dominance for the Panthers both in and out of the pool.
The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Selections were drawn from 209 colleges and universities.
Earlier this week, the FIU swimming and diving team was named a CSCAA Scholar All-American Team for the group's combined GPA.
Randy Horner's squad earned an FIU program-best 3.90 GPA in the spring semester, with all 30 Panthers on the roster achieving above a 3.5 and 14 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
