MIAMI (Sept. 2, 2020) – For the third time in four years, FIU baseball sits in the Top 25 of the Baseball America Recruiting Class Rankings, landing 25th on the publication's list.

FIU is the only Conference USA squad to make the Top 25, while also carrying the torch as the only non-Power Five team ranked.

The 2020 recruiting class is headlined by the Puerto Rican duo of Steven Ondina and Mario Zabala, ranked by Baseball America as the top two prospects from the island in the 2020 cycle.

A trio of prospects whose fathers had an extensive history in the MLB also add depth to the class, with Dante Girardi (Joe Girardi), Raul Ibanez (Raul Ibanez) and Orlando Hernandez (Orlando Hernandez "El Duque") joining the squad in the fall.
