MIAMI (Jan. 29, 2021) – The long wait is finally over for FIU women's golf, as the Panthers return to the links to open the spring slate on Friday with the Battle at Old South.
The Old South Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina, will host the three-day event on a par-72, 6,354-yard course that was designed by Clyde Johnston and was opened for play in 1992.
FIU is set to compete against Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern, Jacksonville, USC Beaufort, Western Carolina and Cincinnati.
The first Panther lineup of the year will feature returners
Carolina Andrade,
Agueda Cortilla and
Gabriela Powel, along with the debuts of
Ema Dobiasova,
Millburn Ho and
Hannah Mitterberger.
The event will open with an 18-hole seeding round during Friday's opening day of action. On Saturday, after the teams have been seeded, the teams will play 36 holes (two rounds) and finish the event on Sunday with an 18-hole championship round.
