MIAMI (Oct. 21, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team hits the road for A Conference USA clash with Old Dominion at the ODU Volleyball Center from Oct. 22-23. First serve on Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET while Saturday's match is slated for 2 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU split its series with conference rival Florida Atlantic. After falling in straight sets, the Panthers swept the Owls 25-19, 25-23, 25-9 the following day. Giada Bianchi led FIU with 13 kills during the victory, and Fiorella Murillo followed closely behind with 10. Ella Erteltova posted 34 assists while Valeria Santos recorded a squad-best 16 digs. Jade Sadeiko and Yaniris Miller-Green each tallied six blocks.
BY THE NUMBERS
As a team, FIU averages 11.5 kills per set while hitting .171 this season. The Blue and Gold rank fourth in the league with 2.42 blocks per set. Defensively, Santos posts 4.53 digs while Myrthe Maring logs 1.21 blocks per set to rank third and fourth, respectively. Freshman Bianchi sits seventh in C-USA for aces with 0.40 and eighth with 4.18 points per set.
SCOUTING ODU
Old Dominion comes into the weekend at 11-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The team is hitting .208 this season with 12.1 kills per set. Defensively, ODU ranks sixth in the league with 2.20 blocks per set.
Individually, Hailey Duncan comes into the series fifth in the league with a .360 hitting percentage during her redshirt sophomore campaign. Setter Teresa Atilano's 9.46 assists per set are good enough for fifth place in C-USA. Olivia De Jesus paces the Monarch squad with 1.05 blocks per set, putting the middle blocker in seventh place in the league.
