MIAMI – The No. 12 FIU men's soccer team scored three goals in the opening half before adding a fourth in the second to propel it to a 4-0 shutout road win at FAU on Saturday afternoon.
The win improves the Panthers' overall record to 11-2-2 on the season and marks their fourth win over the last five matches. FIU currently sits in first place with a 6-0-1 record in Conference USA action.
Stephen Afrifa scored the first goal of the match off an assist from
Philip Hildebrandt 9:59 into the contest to give FIU a 1-0 edge.
Bernardo Dos Santos Monteiro added another score for the Panthers at the 31:54 mark to increase to lead to 2-0 before
Matias Barraza notched the final goal of the opening half with his first tally of the season to make the score 3-0 at intermission.
FIU's Hildebrandt added his second goal of the season at 61:27 to round out the scoring and put the Panthers ahead 4-0.
For the match, the Panthers out-shot FAU 14-8. The deadlocked in corner kick opportunities 4-4.

The sold-out environment at FIU Stadium has propelled the Panthers to a perfect 6-0 home record this season. FIU's final regular-season home match is scheduled against C-USA foe No. 2 ranked Marshall on Friday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
