MIAMI (Dec. 23, 2021) – Mandy Song and Stephanie Hussey of the FIU women's swimming and diving team were named Conference USA Diver of the Week and Swimmer of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.

FIU has now garnered nine C-USA weekly awards during the 2021-22 campaign, with Song collecting her third and Hussey earning her second. The Blue & Gold have also swept both C-USA weekly awards for a fourth time this season.

The awards come for FIU after the Panthers' excellent performance in a dual-meet victory over Marshall (178-122) on Friday, Dec. 17.

Song helped FIU secure the dual-meet win over the Thundering Herd with first-place finishes in the both the 3-meter (305.33) and 1-meter (283.65) dives.

Hussey claimed three swimming events in the contest against Marshall, winning the 200 freestyle (1:52.90), the 400 IM (4:24.28), and the 100 freestyle (51.14). The Canadian native also helped FIU secure second place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 22.92 in the final anchor leg of the event. The anchor time was the fastest individual time in the entire 200 medley relay event.

The Panthers are back at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center for the FIU Sprint Invite on Monday, Jan. 3. Events are set to get underway beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
