MIAMI (Feb. 1, 2021) – The FIU men's basketball team dominated in a win over Florida Memorial at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Monday night. The Panthers topped the Lions 90-74 in the non-conference clash.

In the opening half, the Panthers shot 45.7% from the field and 37.5% from three. FIU outscored the Lions 14-0 in points off turnovers and 27-1 off the bench, leading to a 45-32 advantage at the end of the period.

Coming out of the locker room, FIU continued to cruise, shooting 44.1% from the floor and 36.4% from behind the arc. Despite the Lions going 51.6% from the field during the period, FIU remained in control to claim the 90-74 win.

Overall, the team went 44.9% from the field and 37.0% from three during the win. Javaunte Hawkins led all players with 20 points, going 7-14 in the contest and 6-13 from beyond the arc. Antonio Daye, Jr. scored 18 points and was an assist shy of a double-double, while Petar Krivokapic was the third Panther in double-figures, posting 10 on the night.

UP NEXT
The Panthers return to C-USA play with a home series against UTSA from Feb. 5-6. Tipoff from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
