MIAMI (Feb. 5, 2021) – The FIU men's basketball team welcomed UTSA to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday night. The Panthers fell to the Roadrunners 87-80 during the Conference USA contest.

Overall, the team shot 50.8% from the field but went just 7-24 from beyond the arc. The Panthers outscored the Roadrunners 44-40 in the paint and 14-6 off fast breaks during the loss.

Individually, Antonio Daye, Jr. recorded a team-high 26 points, while Tevin Brewer followed closely behind with 17. Dimon Carrigan posted a double-double with a career-high 15 points and 11 rebounds. The senior also logged a career-best six blocks during the loss. Javaunte Hawkins was the fourth Panther in double-figures, scoring 10 in the game.

The Panthers are back in action when the squad closes out the series with the Roadrunners on Saturday. Tipoff from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center is slated for 2 p.m.
