JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Feb. 16, 2021) – After play was suspended on Monday due to weather,
Carolina Andrade stormed up the leaderboard for her first career win at the First Coast Classic.
Overall, the FIU women's golf team finished fourth with three Panthers in the Top 25.
Andrade fired off a four-under 68 in the second round, that included five birdies on the back-nine before closing out the event with a steady 71 in the final round. The Bogota, Colombia native, is the first Panther to win an individual title since teammate
Agueda Cortilla won the Jupiter Women's invitational in October of 2019.
Joining Andrade in the top 10 was the aforementioned Cortilla, who tied for seventh overall after a final day total of 143.
Gabriela Powel, who shot a 36-hole total of 149, joined Andrade and Cortilla in the top 25 to finish in a tie for 21st overall.
Competing as an individual,
Hannah Mitterberger shot a final day 154 to tie for 53rd, while
Millburn Ho finished tied for 56th after a final day 160 in her second collegiate tournament.
Ema Dobiasova did not finish the tournament.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will travel to Mesa, Arizona, for the Arizona State Tournament on March 11-13.
