MIAMI (Feb. 18, 2021) – FIU student-athletes posted a school all-time high NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR), continuing the Panthers' long-standing tradition of continued success in the classroom.
"I am proud of the continued work our student-athletes have done in the classroom," FIU Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia said. "Our student-athletes raise the bar each and every year and their hard work is reflected in these results. I want to thank our coaches, faculty and entire SAAC staff, as they are responsible for this success and I congratulate them for the impressive results."
The NCAA released its GSR scores recently, with the score being a measurement of the past four years. FIU has bettered or maintained its GSR score for 12-straight years, with the latest percentage being a school-best. Two programs ranked first among C-USA schools for their respective sports with women's golf (100) and women's tennis (100) topping the league standings. Additionally, nine programs at FIU improved or maintained its GSR scores from last year's release.
The GSR is an NCAA measurement that includes transfer data in the calculation. The GSR data released is based on four classes of scholarship student-athletes. The GSR allows for a six-year window in which the student-athlete can earn his or her degree. A perfect score indicates all eligible student-athletes earned a degree at FIU within the allowed six-year window.
