MIAMI (Feb. 21, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team fell to Marshall during a Conference USA match at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Sunday afternoon. The score stood at 25-20, 25-22, 27-25 in favor of the Thundering Herd.
FIU held the 44-40 advantage in kills and the 49-43 edge in digs. However, Marshall hit .294 as a team and posted five blocks compared to FIU's pair.
Emily Meyer led the squad with a career-high 17 kills and was a dig shy of a double-double. Jovana Vukcevic was the second FIU player to log double-digit kills, tallying 11 while hitting .296 for the match. Valeria Santos posted a team-high 17 digs and two aces.
The Panthers and Thundering Herd face off once more from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Monday. First serve on Monday, Feb. 22, is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
