MIAMI (Feb. 6, 2021) - The FIU women's soccer team opens the spring season on Sunday, as the Panthers host the visiting Jacksonville Dolphins at 11 a.m. ET.
Sunday's season opener will mark the first contest for FIU under the direction of head coach
Jonathan Garbar. The game will be televised on CUSA.tv.
FIU is playing its first home contest in 469 days, since the Panthers faced North Texas on Oct. 27, 2019, to close out the last campaign. The Panthers sport a roster of 14 returning veterans, eight upperclassmen transfers and five freshmen. The Blue & Gold are led on the field this season by team captains
Sierra Moss and
Sarah Ward.
SCOUTING JU
Jacksonville is 0-1 in 2021 thus far after losing a match to UNF on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Dolphins were led last season in points and goals by 2019 A-SUN All-Freshman Team honoree Olivia Abdallah. FIU last defeated Jacksonville in 2019, which was also in its home opener, by a score of 3-0.

Following Sunday's home opener, the Panthers will begin a four-match road trip starting with North Florida on Friday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. ET.
