MIAMI (Feb. 7, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team hosts Old Dominion in a Conference USA clash at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center from Feb. 8-9. First serve for both contests is slated for 1 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU dropped a five-set thriller to Jacksonville during the Panthers' only non-conference match this season. Fiorella Murillo led the Panthers with 15 kills, while Yaniris Miller-Green and Emily Meyer posted 11 kills apiece. Meyer also logged 12 digs for her first double-double in the Blue and Gold.
BY THE NUMBERS
FIU averages 10.8 kills and 1.6 service aces per set this season. The Panthers post 15.8 digs and 9.4 assists per set, and defensively, the squad is averaging 1.4 blocks per set.
Murillo's 3.00 kills per set pace the Panther squad, while Myrthe Maring leads the Blue and Gold with a .357 hitting percentage and an 0.80 blocks per set average. Valeria Santos's 5.6 digs per set and Catherine Lederman's 5.5 assists put the pair in first on the team.
SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
Old Dominion enters the series at 2-1 during the Monarchs' inaugural season. ODU boasts wins over George Mason and Delaware State, with its lone loss coming to VCU. The team comes into the series hitting .217 on the year and averaging 11.5 kills per set.
Alessia Sgherza leads the Monarchs with 3.64 kills per set this season, while Teresa Atilano comes into the match averaging 8.80 assists per set. Defensively, Olivia De Jesus posts 1.14 blocks while Hailey Duncan averages 1.09 blocks per set.
