Panthers Fall to Coastal Carolina in Weekend Finale to Split Series

FIU goes 2-2 in first road weekend of the year.

CONWAY, South Carolina (March 14, 2021) – The FIU baseball team fell to Coastal Carolina on Sunday by a score 6-1 to spilt the first road weekend of the 2021 season.
 
The lone Panther run on the afternoon came off the bat of Alec Sanchez when in the center fielder hit a no-doubt home run to right for his second dinger of the weekend. Sanchez later reached on a bunt single in the sixth to make Sunday his third multi-hit game of the season.
 
Derek Cartaya added two more hits of his own for his fifth multi-hit game of the 2021 campaign. Justin Farmer collected the only other Panther knock of the afternoon.  
 
UP NEXT
The longest road swing of the season continues on March 19 as the Panthers head to DeLand, Florida, for a four-game weekend set with host Stetson and Wichita State.
