MIAMI (March 5, 2021) – The FIU men's soccer team opens the Conference USA portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 6, when the Panthers host the Owls in Miami.
First kick against the Owls is set for Noon from the FIU Soccer Stadium. Due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the capacity of Saturday's match will be reduced to 200 fans.

SCOUTING THE OWLS
FAU has posted a 3-0-2 record this spring, with victories over North Florida (1-0, Feb. 3), Stetson (1-0, Feb. 9) and Jacksonville (4-0, Feb. 19). The Owls posted a 1-1 draw in their most recent match against FGCU on Feb. 23, after the Panthers defeated the Eagles (3-2) on Feb. 17.
FAU has been led in the attack this season by midfielder Alonso Coello Camarero and forward Dean Blake, who both have recorded two goals and an assist in 2021. The Owls also deploy 2019 All-CUSA Second Teamer Ivan Mykhailenko at the forward position, who led FAU last season with 17 points and 7 goals. Both Mykhailenko and Coello Camarero were selected to the All-CUSA Preseason Team before the season, while FAU was picked to finish fifth in the league.
INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU has dominated the all-time series over FAU by a record of 35-5-2. The Panthers have won their last six meetings against the Owls, including a 6-0 victory last season on Sept. 14, 2019, in Boca Raton. FIU has not lost in 12 of its last 14 contests against FAU, going 11-2-1 within that span. The Panthers have also outscored the Owls by a margin of 23-6 in the last six games combined.

FIU will take off for its first road contest of 2021 on Saturday, March 13, when the Panthers travel to face reigning C-USA champion Marshall. First kick against the Thundering Herd is slated for Noon from Huntington, West Virginia.
