MIAMI (March 6, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team hits the road for a Conference USA series at No. 21 WKU from March 7-8. Both matches are slated for 1 p.m. ET. Fans can catch both matches on Facebook Live.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU dropped a pair of contests at home to Marshall last time out. Emily Meyer registered 31 kills during the series on .176 hitting. The freshman averaged 5.17 kills per set and 2.5 digs per set during the two matches.

BY THE NUMBERS
As a team, the Panthers average 10.3 kills per set while hitting .115 for the year. The squad posts 1.3 aces and 13.0 digs per set. Individually, Meyer leads FIU with 3.33 points and 3.04 kills per set. Defensively, Valeria Santos comes in with 4.42 digs, and Natalia Martinez posts 0.80 blocks per set to pace the Panthers.

SCOUTING WKU
The ranked Hilltoppers enter the series at a perfect 11-0 overall and 6-0 against league opponents. The team averages 14.3 kills on .353 hitting.

Lauren Matthews leads WKU with 4.96 points, 4.06 kills, and 1.31 blocks per set. The junior was named an America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American during the 2019 season and was named the AVCA National Player of the Week earlier this season.

UP NEXT
The Panthers' final home matches take place against Middle Tennessee from March 14-15 at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. Both contests are set for 1 p.m.
