MIAMI (April 23, 2021) - The FIU softball team fell to Marshall on Friday afternoon, as the Panthers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Thundering Herd to open the Conference USA series.
FIU and Marshall will play a doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Friday's game was tied at 1-1 until the sixth inning, when a Herd homer broke up the tie before another run put the visitors up 3-1 to earn the win.
Alexis Ross,
Kayla Whitehead and
Brittany Phillips all earned a hit on Friday, with
Bailey Grossenbacher driving in FIU's lone run in the second inning.
UP NEXT
FIU plays Marshall three more times on the weekend, with the Panthers and Herd kicking off a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
