MIAMI (April 30, 2021) - The FIU softball team dropped a 9-1 decision to WKU on Friday, as the Panthers fell in the series opener to the Hilltoppers.

WKU jumped ahead 3-0 to open the game, before Jessica Rivera doubled to center field and made it 3-1 after the first inning. The Hilltoppers scored six more runs however, as WKU took the opening game of the weekend series, 9-1. 

Rivera now has 34 hits and 27 RBI on the year, which both rank second on the team. 

UP NEXT
FIU hosts WKU for a doubleheader on Saturday, with game one starting at 1 p.m. FIU will honor its seniors between games of the doubleheader.
