MIAMI (May 20, 2021) - The FIU Athletics calendar year is drawing to a close, as only one sport continues play going into the end of May.

Below is a recap of how each sport fared this past week.

Baseball
The FIU baseball team concluded the 2021 season, as the Panthers split its series with Middle Tennessee on the road before falling to No. 3 Vanderbilt on Tuesday. Tyler Myrick threw a complete game in Saturday's victory over the Blue Raiders, allowing no earned runs and striking out four batters. 

Track & Field
Queshun Riggins and Rhema Otabor won gold medals at this past week's C-USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as Riggins placed first in the long jump and triple jump while Otabor earned a victory in the javelin. Riggins, Otabor, Desmond Dorceus and Filippa Miller will represent FIU at UNF's Hodges Stadium on May 26-29. The Panthers will be looking to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 9-12. The top 12 athletes from each event advance to nationals.
