MIAMI (May 4, 2021) – FIU men's basketball head coach Jeremy Ballard announced the addition of Denver Jones to the Panthers roster for the 2021-22 season. The guard comes to the Sunshine State following a stellar season at Garden City Community College.

"We are thrilled to welcome Denver Jones to the Panther family. Denver's size, versatile skill set, and aggressive mentality make him an ideal fit for our system and style of play," Ballard said. "He comes from an excellent Junior College program and has received elite coaching there and throughout every step of his development as a player. Denver comes from a wonderful family, and his character and maturity allow him to have an immediate impact."

In his lone season with the Broncbusters, Jones shot 47% from the floor and 40% from three-point range, averaging an impressive 19.1 points per game. The guard also posted 4.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per outing during his freshman campaign. Jones scored 20 or more points eight times and reached double figures in all but one of his games for Garden City CC.

For his efforts, the Alabama native was named to the All-Region second team, all-conference first team and took home Jayhawk Conference Freshman of the Year honors.
