MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (May 7, 2021) - The FIU softball team fell to Middle Tennessee on Friday night, as the Panthers dropped the doubleheader to the Blue Raiders.
MTSU took the first game 1-0, after the two teams went scoreless for 12 full innings before the Blue Raiders won in the bottom half of the 13th inning. MTSU won Friday's second game 5-2 to cap the doubleheader.
Alexis Ross and
Brianna Hill drove in FIU's pair of runs in the second game, while
Kayla Whitehead earned another extra-base hit with a double.
Brooklynn Linneman pitched 12 innings, facing 44 batters in the marathon 13 inning game to kick off Friday's doubleheader.
Brianna Bahadue earned two hits to lead the Panthers in the first game at the plate.

The Panthers and Blue Raiders will face off on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET to continue the series.
