LAST TIME OUT
FIU fell 23-17 in an overtime clash with Texas State at FIU Stadium last weekend. It was the first home overtime game for the Panthers since the 2012 season. Quarterback
Max Bortenschlager followed up his excellent season-opening performance with another productive night under center, throwing for a total of 259 yards with two passing touchdowns and no interceptions. Defensively,
Davon Strickland had career-game racking up seven tackles with two and a half going for loss including a sack.
SCOUTING THE RED RAIDERS
Texas Tech enters the game at 2-0 on the season and 1-0 at Jones AT&T Stadium. Last weekend, the Red Raiders topped FCS foe Stephen F. Austin 28-22. Quarterback Tyler Shough went 12-22 for 174 yards. The junior logged one touchdown and a pair of interceptions. Running back Tahj Brooks recorded 11 carries for 103 yards and tallied a pair of touchdowns. Leading TTU in tackles was Damarcus Fields, who logged nine for the game.
