MIAMI (September 16, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball team heads to the UNF Sunshine tournament on Friday, Sept. 17, where the Panther squad faces Seton Hall and North Florida. The team takes on SHU at 1:30 p.m. ET and the host Ospreys at 7:30 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU went 0-2 last weekend at the Eagle Invitational as the Panthers fell in straight sets against Murray State and Georgia Southern. Fiorella Murillo tallied a team-best nine kills while hitting .348 in the match against the Racers. Murillo and Shannon Gormally notched 10 kills apiece against GSU. Defensively, Valeria Santos logged 36 digs to lead the Panthers during the tournament.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Seton Hall comes to the Sunshine State with a 7-3 record. The Pirates are riding a seven-match winning streak, dropping just four sets during that time span. As a team SHU averages 13.8 kills while hitting .248 this season.The Pirates also post 17.3 digs and 2.8 blocks per set.

North Florida enters the weekend with an 8-1 record. UNF's lone lose came at TCU as a part of the Fight in the Fort tournament. As a team, the Ospreys are hitting .232 this year, averaging 12.7 kills per set. On defense, UNF posts 2.1 blocks and 14.2 digs per set in 2021.

The Panthers get ready for Conference USA play to start October as FIU welcomes No. 23 WKU Oct. 1-2 for a pair of conference matches at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
