JACKSONVILLE, Florida (September 17, 2021) – The FIU volleyball team opened their Sunshine Tournament with a sweep over Seton Hall at UNF Arena on Friday. The score that stood 25-18, 25-20, and 25-23 in favor of the Panthers.
FIU improved to 3-5 on the season while Seton Hall dropped to 7-4.
The Panthers tallied 41 kills on the afternoon, posting .269 hitting percentage while holding the Pirates to a .070 hitting percentage.
Giada Bianchi led the way with 14.5 points for the Blue & Gold while posting 12 kills, eight digs, three blocks, and one ace for the match. Senior
Fiorella Murillo put up a double-digit kill count as well, with 12 on the day. Murillo also scored 12.5 points and logged 11 digs.
Autumn Raulerson finished with a season-high 34 assists, one short of her career-high mark.
FIU will be back on the UNF court to complete their Sunshine Tournament run as the team faces the host, North Florida Ospreys tonight, September 17, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
