MIAMI (Sep. 18, 2021) – The FIU women's soccer team is set to host its first C-USA contest this Sunday, Sept. 19, when they welcome the rival FAU Owls to FIU Soccer Stadium.
First kick is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
The Panthers have continued to fight in close matches all season long with seven of their nine contests decided by one point, including the last game against Middle Tennessee (3-2, 2OT) which resulted in a heartbreaking last-minute overtime loss. FIU has out-shot its opponents at home this year, firing off 14.7 shots-per-game while facing 9.5. The Blue & Gold also lead opponents in shots-on-goal by a margin of 48 to 29.
FAU comes into the match with a 3-4-2 record on the season. Four of the Owls' last six matches have resulted in overtime affairs, with FAU getting the double-overtime victory against North Texas (2-1) in their previous contest. FAU carries a road record of 0-1-2 on the season with the Owls' last road contest ending in a 1-1 draw against top-ranked USF.
ALL-TIME SERIES
FIU owns a 5-10-2 all-time record against the Owls. FIU has lost the last six contest to FAU, but enjoyed a five-game winning streak against the Owls from 2009-13. The Blue & Gold carries a 3-6-1 home record all-time while hosting FAU. FIU's last home win over the Owls was during the 2011 campaign, when the Panthers downed the Owls by a score of 3-1.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
The Owls have a balanced scoring attack with six different players logging goals thus far. FAU is led by Bri Austin, who has recorded three goals and 26 shots on the season. Miracle Porter tallied one goal and two shots in the Owls' conference opener against North Texas. Amit Cohen has faced 97 shots on the year, while posting 32 saves and two shutouts in her nine starts between the posts.
The Owls have held all their opponents to one goal-or-less this season, with the exception of FAU's loss to Loyola on Aug. 27 (2-0). FAU has posted two clean sheets this season while holding opponents to 0.89 goals-per-game.
FIU BY THE NUMBERS
FIU will look to build on a two-goal scoring performance against MT last Thursday. In the Blue & Gold's last matchup,
Jessica Magerman tallied her first goal of the season, marking the seventh different Panther that has scored this year.

Deborah Bien-Aime has gone the full distance the past two contests, recorded 199 combined minutes in both games.
Noemi Paquin (705) leads all attacking players in minutes-played after logging a full 109-minutes in FIU's last contest against MT.
