RICHMOND, Virginia (Jan. 27, 2022) - The FIU women's swimming & diving team has been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team.

"Coach [Randy] Horner is one of the mainstays of our sport and here is another reason why," said Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director. "These 33 women are some of the best ambassadors that FIU and Conference USA could ask for."

FIU swim and dive posted a GPA of 3.62 during the 2021 Fall semester to earn the honor. The program's GPA stands as the highest among Division I women's programs in the state of Florida and ranks as the 28th best in the country among all DI women's teams.

"These ladies are amazing," said Coach Horner. "They keep achieving in the classroom despite the world around them throwing them curveballs every day. They are what being a student-athlete should be all about."

In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Click here for the complete list.

Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the  Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition (ICAC) All-Sport Academic Standings.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans later this Spring semester.
