MIAMI (Oct. 11, 2022) – Swimming and Diving's Maha Gouda was named the American Athletic Conference Diving Athlete of the Week, announced the conference Tuesday afternoon.
 
Gouda put in a dominant performance at the TYR Fall Classic, winning both dive events. She posted a 316.13 in the 1-Meter and a 321.83 in the 3-Meter, scoring 40 points for the Panthers.
 
This is Gouda's second-consecutive Diving Athlete of the Week award after her performance last week against the University of Miami. She finished third in both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter dives and qualified for NCAA Zones.
 
Just two weeks into being members of The American, FIU has won three Athlete of the Week honors. Sophomore Christie Chue was named the Swimming Athlete of the Week last week giving the Panthers a sweep of the honors. 
 
UP NEXT
Swim and Dive will be back in the pool October 28 and 29 when they host Liberty University in a dual meet. Day one of competition will start at 5 p.m. ET and day two will start at 10 a.m. ET, all at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
