MIAMI (Oct. 13, 2022) – No. 24 Men's Soccer heads north to face off against USF, Sunday evening.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET and the match can be watched live on ESPN+.
The Panthers own a 7-4 record after 11 matches in 2022 and a 4-2 overall road record.
The Bulls are 3-4-3 this season and 3-2-1 when playing at home. USF saw a five-match unbeaten streak snapped Wednesday night with a loss against Stetson at home.
FROM EVERY ANGLE
The Panther offense has delivered 23 goals this season with contributions coming from all over the field.
With
Philip Hildebrandt's goal last week against UCF, FIU now has 13 different goal scorers with a player from every position having found the back of the net this season.
Five Panther forwards have found the back of the net for a total of 13 goals. Five FIU midfielders have contributed a total of six goals and three defenders have notched a total of four goals.
Stephen Afrifa leads all forwards with five goals scored.
Yushi Nagao's two goals leads all midfielders.
Carlos Scheckermann and
David Garcia are joined by Hildebrandt as defenders with a goal.
NEVER DOWN LONG
The Panthers have not lost consecutive matches in 2022 and will look to continue that trend on Sunday.
FIU has twice followed up a loss with a three-match winning streak in 2022. The Panthers have also followed up each loss this season with a shutout.
Not losing in back-to-back matches has become a staple of Head Coach
Kyle Russell's side as they accomplished the same feat last season.
SCOUTING USF
The Bulls have scored 11 goals through 10 matches with the froward combo of Oscar Resano and Alex Sannes, who bothlead the team with two goals each.
Redshirt senior Jackson Weyman is the man between the pipes for USF, having played every minute of the Bulls season. He has made 32 saves on 97 shots faced and posted two clean sheets.
UP NEXT
The Panthers are back at home to take on UAB, Saturday, October 22. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
