The Blue Raiders won the first matchup this season two weeks ago

MIAMI, Fla. -  The FIU women's volleyball team (4-15,1-5 C-USA) returns to action at home this weekend after having a full week in between their last match. The Panthers will be hosting Middle Tennessee State University this Sunday, Oct. 16.

The last time the Panthers played at home, they earned their first C-USA win of the season over UAB. FIU looks to make it back-to-back home victories as they go up against a familiar opponent.

The Panthers look for redemption against the Blue Raiders as they played against them two weeks ago on Oct. 2, and MTSU came away with a 3-1 victory. In that match, outside hitter Emily Meyer recorded 21 kills for a new career high. She is currently seventh in C-USA averaging 3.18 kills/ set this season.

Libero Katie Turner is continuing her strong season. She is one of five Panthers to appear in every match so far this season and has climbed up in the C-USA top ten list for digs/set. She is now second in the conference averaging and impressive 4.78.

SCOUTING MTSU:
After beating FIU at home two weeks ago, the Blue Raiders dropped their following match against UTSA 3-1. They were picked to finish 8th in the preseason conference rankings and are currently in 9th place in this season's standings.

The Blue Raiders were headlined by senior Marley Banton in the C-USA preseason team. The defensive specialist leads MTSU with 286 digs so far this season. She is seventh in the conference averaging 4.09 per set.

Offensively, outside hitter Adri Rhoda leads MTSU's volleyball team with 178 kills and leads the whole conference with 44 service aces. MTSU features a balanced attack on offense and has five players with more than 100 kills so far this season.

Controlling the offense for MTSU is setter Taylor Eisert. She leads the team with 650 assists and is second in the entire conference averaging 9.70 assists/ set.

Series Lead: MTSU leads 30-11
