Miami, Fla. - The FIU women's volleyball team (6-16, 3-6 C-USA) returns to action in action this weekend to take on a pair of Florida teams. The Panthers will first play Florida Atlantic University on the road this Friday, Oct. 28 and then close out the weekend at home to play a non-conference match against the University of North Florida on Sunday, Oct. 30.

The Panthers have climbed the Conference USA standings recently after winning two of their last three matches. They currently hold the final spot in the standings to qualify for the conference tournament.
FIU is entering this weekend's matches looking for back-to-back conference wins for the first time this season. They won their previous match against UTSA led by an impressive all-around performance by
Jade Sadeiko. She recorded 14 kills to lead the Panthers and chipped in 18 digs as well.
Middle blocker,
Athina Dimitriadis, has risen to the top for the team lead in kills this the season with 210. Junior outside hitter,
Emily Meyer, is still holding on to a top 10 spot in C-USA with 3.13 kills/set which is good for ninth.
Sarah Nading continues to get the nod as the starting setter with
Camila De La Rosa still sidelined with an injury. In FIU's last match, Nading led both teams with 41 assists and added to her team lead with 527 so far this season. She is sixth in the conference averaging 8.66 assists/set. Libero,
Katie Turner, is leading the team with 394 digs and collected 25 in their last match against UTSA. She is still second in the conference averaging 4.94 digs/ set.
SCOUTING FAU:
The Panthers have a long history against FAU and have played in over 60 matches. The Owls enter Friday night's matchup against the Panthers losing two out of their last three. FAU was picked to finish 10
th in the C-USA preseason poll and are currently in sixth.
The Owls are led by outside hitter Valeria Rosado and has collected 257 kills this season. She is sixth in the conference averaging 3.47 kills/ set and fifth with 32 service aces.
Another player on FAU that is having a successful season is setter Noelle Stephens. She leads the Owls with 670 assists and is averaging 9.05/ set which is fifth best in the conference. Their starting setter, Camryn Vogler, leads the Owls with 272 digs and is averaging 3.68/ which is ninth in the conference.

SCOUTING UNF:
The Ospreys are coming to Miami for a non-conference matchup as they are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. UNF is currently seventh in their conference out of 14 teams. They were picked to finish sixth in the ASUN Preseason Volleyball Poll.
Their starting libero, Rocio Moro, was named to the 2022 Preseason All-ASUN Team. She leads the Ospreys and is second in the entire conference with 386 digs and is averaging 4.78/set to give her the second-best mark in the ASUN Conference. Offensively, the Ospreys are led by outside hitter Mahalia White with 276 kills. She is in the top 10 in total kills sitting in fifth place. Her 4.12 kills/ set is second in the conference.

UP NEXT
After their weekend road/home split, the Panthers will close out the season playing their last three out of four games at home. The first game of home stretch is against Charlotte on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m. That same weekend, FIU will host No.22 Western Kentucky University on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 12:00 p.m.
