MIAMI (Oct. 4, 2022) – FIU Swim and Dive earned both Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for the American Athletic Conference, all in the first week of competition as members of the conference.

Sophomore
Christie Chue earned three first place finishes against the Hurricanes last week.

Two of those top finishes came in the breaststroke, winning the 100 and 200 with times of 1:02.58 and 2:16.31, respectively.

Chue's third win of the day came in the 200-Individual Medley, where she clocked a 2:04.11.

Graduate Student
Maha Gouda put in a strong performance against Miami as well.
Â
She earned third in the 1-Meter and 3-Meter dives with scores of 299.25 and 295.95, respectively. Both of those scores qualified her for NCAA Dive Zones in March.
UP NEXT
The Panthers are back in action this week when they host the TYR Fall Classic. This marquee meet will be held on Friday, October 7 starting at 5 p.m. ET and Saturday October 8 starting at 10 a.m. ET at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
