Ruston, La. -  The FIU women's volleyball team (7-20, 4-9 C-USA) dropped their Thursday night matchup in four sets against Louisiana Tech University (25-19, 21-25, 14-25, 22-25).

The Panthers were off to a great start in this match winning the first set 25-19. It was close early on and the opening set had nine different ties until LA Tech had a 15-14 edge midway through. From that point, the Panthers rattled off 8 consecutive points to give them a 22-15 lead. The Lady Techsters were not able to recover from that offensive burst by FIU and the Panthers won the first set 25-19.
 
LA Tech bounced back from dropping the first set and would go on to win the following three sets to take the win over FIU. Two Panthers finished the match with double digit kills: middle blocker Alyssa Wissinger (13) and outside hitter Jade Sadeiko (11).
 
Sadeiko was third on the Panthers with 10 digs. Setter Sarah Nading led both teams with 42 assists and she led FIU with 15 digs. Four Panthers finished with double digit digs as the Panthers recorded 63 digs compared to LA Tech's 59. Rounding off the list was libero Katie Turner who recorded 11 and Paige Thibault had 10.

FIU will return home this weekend to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for their regular season finale. The Panthers will take on their in-state rival Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The match will be streamed through CUSA.tv
