MIAMI (Dec. 9, 2022) – Senior forward
Stephen Afrifa was named 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA D-I Second Team All-America, announced on the organization on Friday.
Afrifa netted 10 goals and assisted on four others for 24 total points, all-career highs. He logged 1,271 minutes in his senior season for the Panthers, netting three braces over 16 starts.
Afrifa helped the Panthers win The American regular season championship and The American Championship tournament in the program's first season in the conference. FIU also went on a run to the third round of the NCAA Tournament this season.
Afrifa's career-season has earned him multiple awards. He is a two-time American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, was named The American First Team All-Conference and was named The American Championship Most Outstanding Offensive Player and earned place on the All-Tournament team.
