MIAMI (Dec. 9, 2022) – Swimming and Diving has added three swimmers and three divers to the class of 2023, announced head coach
Randy Horner on Friday.
"This group of ladies are going to be great Panthers," Horner said. We can't wait to get them on campus next Fall."
Keira Stericker is a freestyle specialist from Ayrshire, Scotland. She had a breakthrough season this summer winning the 50-free in her national Scottish age group and finaled in the same event at the British Summer Championships. Stericker trains with the South Ayrshire Swim Team.
A Fayetteville, Arkansas native, Kristina Keenan is set to join the dive team. Keenan finished in the top 25 percent for divers at the AAU Nationals this year. She currently dives for the Razorback Diving Academy.
Linnea Gipperth is a backstroke specialist from Jarfalla, Sweden. Over the last three years, Jarfalla has been in the top 10 for backstroke swimmers in Sweden in both short course and long course formats. She currently swims for Sparvagen Simforening.
A diver from Huntsville, North Carolina, Sydney Soto comes to Miami in 2023. Earlier this year, Soto took home two top 10 finishes at the Carolina Big Dive Invitational, highlighted by a second-place finish on the 3-meter springboard. She is currently training with the Carolina Diving Academy.

Josh Larcom said. "All of the new divers are hardworking, passionate and want to succeed. Each of them brings something special to the team and I am looking forward to what they will accomplish at FIU."
Sophie Kiryk is a distance swimming specialist from Daphne, Alabama. Kiryk is the top ranked swimmer in Alabama for the class of 2023. Over the summer, she earned a win in the 1500-free, runner up in the 400-individual medley and third in the 400-free at the Southeastern Championships. She currently trains with the City of Mobile Swim Club.
Bethany Holman joins the FIU dive team from Adel, Ga. Holman competed at the 2022 USA Diving Junior Region 3 Championship this year, taking 10th in the platform dive. She currently dives for Moss Farms Diving Club.
