LYNCHBURG, Virginia (Feb. 25, 2022) - The FIU women's swimming and diving team remains in first place overall with 733 points at the Conference USA Championship after winning 13 medals, including four golds, and reaching the podium in all seven events on Day Three.
The Panthers lead second-place Rice (650) by 83 points, with Marshall (389), FAU (380) North Texas (372), and Old Dominion (252) rounding out the standings.
FIU won gold in the 400 individual medley, the 100 breaststroke, the 400 medley relay, and the 1-meter dive. The Panthers swept all three medals at the podium in the 100 breast and saw two medalists in four other events including the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and the 1-meter.
The Panthers also posted a total of seven NCAA B Standard times on Day Three.

Mia Zahab claimed FIU's first gold medal of the day in the 400 IM, posting an NCAA B Standard time of 4:14.65 to grab first place.
Stephanie Hussey took bronze with a mark of 4:19.64.
Christie Chue,
Sara Gyertyanffy, and
Delaine Goll claimed the top-three spots in the 100 breast with respective NCAA B Standard times of 1:00:28, 1:00.98, and 1:01.64.
On the diving side,
Mandy Song became the 1-meter champion and grabbed a gold medal with a stellar score of 338.65.
Maha Gouda claimed silver with a score of 329.75.
The Panthers stayed undefeated in relays for the meet as the group of
Kelsie Campbell, Chue,
Julia Miranda, and Hussey posted a collective time of 3:36.15 to take gold in the 400 medley relay. Campbell's leadoff 100 backstroke time of 53.87 in the leadoff leg of the relay stood as an NCAA B Standard time.
In the 100 fly, Campbell claimed a silver medal with an NCAA B Standard time of 52.84, while Miranda followed a hair behind and claimed bronze with an NCAA B cut mark of 52.87.
Michaela Trnkova earned a silver medal of her own in the 100 backstroke, posting a time of 53.97 to finish second. Miranda swam a mark of 54.28 and claimed bronze for her second individual medal of the day.
Lamija Medosevic earned a bronze medal in the 200 freestyle with an excellent time of 1:49.26.
FIU also saw a B Final win from
Anelis Roque in the 100 fly (54.86).
UP NEXT, DAY FOUR
The final day of the C-USA Championships will feature the 1650 freestyle, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform dive, and the 400 freestyle relay.
