MIAMI (Mar. 11, 2022) - FIU sits in second place overall at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) with 484 points after the second day of events, with the Panthers breaking an NIC meet record in the 200 medley relay and reaching the podium three times on Friday.
Ohio State is in first overall with 542 points, while Tennessee trails the FIU in third place (415.5).

The Panther group of Michaela Trnkova, Sara Gyertyanffy, Julia Miranda, and Kelsie Campbell opened the finals session with an electric time of 1:38.60 in the 200 medley relay to set a meet record and win gold at the podium.
Miranda also hit the podium in the 100 butterfly, taking bronze with a mark of 52.79. Stephanie Hussey clocked in at 52.99 for fifth-place, and Campbell came in ninth with a time of 54.13.
On the diving side, Maha Gouda won bronze in the 1-meter with a score of 272.25. Gouda also placed seventh in the 3-meter with a tally of 279.10.
The Panthers also secured a fifth-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay A Final, as the group of Hussey, Lamija Medosevic, Anelis Roque, and Mia Zahab swam a mark of 7:21.60.
In the 100 breaststroke A Final, Delaine Goll swam a time of 1:01.95 for sixth place.
Zahab took eighth place in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:22.24 in the A Finals.
UP NEXT
The swimmers hit the water again on Saturday for the final day of the NIC. Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by the finals session at 6 p.m.
