MIAMI, Fla (March 29, 2022) - FIU sophomore Rhema Otabor earned Conference USA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors Tuesday, after a terrific performance at the prestigious Texas Relays over the weekend. 

Otabor set a school record in the javelin with a personal best throw of 56.07m (183-11), which earned her a second-place finish in the event. Otabor's mark is now third in the NCAA and first on the C-USA list.

The sophomore is coming off qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships last year as a freshman. 

Otabor and FIU will next compete at the Florida Relays this upcoming week.
