TAMPA - The No. 42 FIU women's tennis team cruised to its 13^th win in its last 14 matches with a smooth 4-0 road victory over USF on Sunday afternoon that saw the Panthers clinch the victory in under two and a half hours.
 
FIU opened play by claiming two of the three doubles matches to claim to initial point.  Kamila Umarova and Andjela Skrobonja posted a 6-1 win in the No. 1 slot before Yasmine Kabbaj and Basak Akbas paired up for a 6-4 victory at No. 3.
 
The Panthers made quick work of the Bulls in singles play as Kabbaj (6-2, 6-0), Kristina Miletic (6-3, 6-3) and Akbas (6-1, 7-5) each posted straight set wins to seal the match.
 
Kabbaj has recorded 10 straight singles victories for the Panthers, all while playing in the No. 1 position. 
 
The win improves the Panthers' overall mark to 15-3 on the season.  USF slips to 5-13 following the loss.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers will host FAU on Friday, April 8 at 12 p.m. ET at the FIU Tennis Center in the final dual match of the regular season before heading to the 2022 Conference USA Championships on April 22-25 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
