MIAMI, Fla. – FIU head volleyball coach Christina Robertson announced the 2022 schedule on Monday afternoon, as the Panthers are slated for an ultracompetitive non-conference slate that includes three teams that advanced to the 2021 NCAA Tournament, in addition to hosting eight Conference USA matches at Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

The Panthers open with a home exhibition against Nova Southeastern on Aug. 20 to prepare for the 2022 campaign, officially starting in Norman, Okla. at the Oklahoma Invitational on Aug. 26-28 with matchups against Iowa, Gonzaga and the Sooners.

FIU then travels to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational on Sept. 2-4, including neutral site matches against Arizona State and reigning A-10 champions Dayton prior to facing host Georgia Tech, who's coming off a 2021 NCAA Elite Eight appearance. The Panthers follow with the Arkansas Invitational on Sept. 8-9, including matchups against Little Rock, Colorado and Arkansas over the two-day span.

The Panthers host FGCU at Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Sept. 13 for its home opener prior to concluding the non-conference slate in New Jersey, facing Princeton, Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson on Sept. 17-18 as a part of the Rutgers Tournament in New Brunswick, N.J.

Conference USA action begins at home this year for the Panthers, who will play host to UTEP and North Texas on Sept. 23 and Sept. 25. Road tilts at Western Kentucky on Sept. 30 and Middle Tennessee on Oct. 2 follow before hosting UAB in Miami on Oct. 7. FIU then plays four of its next five matches on the road, hosting Middle Tennessee on Oct. 16 while playing at Charlotte (Oct. 9), Rice (Oct. 21), UTSA (Oct. 23) and FAU (Oct. 28).

The road swing gives way to a three-game homestand for the Panthers with a non-conference tilt against North Florida on Oct. 30, followed by home matches versus Charlotte (Nov. 4) and Western Kentucky (Nov. 6). FIU travels to Louisiana Tech on Nov. 10 prior to finishing the regular season at Ocean Bank Convocation Center against FAU on Nov. 12.

The 2022 Conference USA Championship is slated for Nov. 18-20 to be hosted in Bowling Green, Ky. on the campus of Western Kentucky University.
