MIAMI – The No. 4 seed FIU volleyball program is championship-bound after sweeping No. 8 Missouri State in the semifinals of the CUSA Volleyball Championship on Saturday afternoon inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
FIU (20-11) secures its 20th win of the season—marking the program's most victories in a single campaign since 2011—and advances to the CUSA Championship match for just the second time in program history. The Panthers last reached the final in 2018, ultimately falling to top-seeded Rice.
On Sunday, FIU will look to capture its first-ever CUSA title and its second conference championship overall, with the previous coming in 2001 as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
FIU will take on the winner of No. 3 Kennesaw State / No. 2 Western Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 23 at noon from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center and streamed live on ESPN+.
The Panthers delivered a balanced offensive performance in set scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-19, with three players recording double-digit kills.
Kira Givans led the way with 14 kills—her 20th double-digit effort of the year.
Freshman standout
Rebekah Pfefferkorn followed closely with 13 kills, marking her tenth match this season reaching double figures.
Sophomore
Jillian Huckabey added 11 kills and nine digs in an all-around standout effort, while senior setter
