MIAMI, Fla. - The FIU volleyball team's 2022 home opener will take place on Tuesday night against Florida Gulf Coast University. Start time is slated for 6 p.m. ET at Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
The Panthers (1-8) competed in the Arkansas Invitational this past weekend and earned their first win of the season against Little Rock.

Tuesday, September 12 vs. Florida Gulf Coast University
The Panthers are 5-11 overall against FGCU dating back to their first matchup in 2007. The Eagles have taken control of this non-conference matchup recently winning the last 11 head-to-head battles.
Over the weekend at the Arkansas Invitational, Emily Meyer continued her strong play and extended her match streak of finishing with double-digit kills five matches in a row. She recorded her career high in kills with 19 against Little Rock. That streak would snap the following match but other Panthers performed well.
Alyssa Wissinger is third on the team in kills (61) and she led the Panthers with 10 in their loss against Arkansas. Freshman Madison Morgan is taking full advantage of the playing time and had 10 kills of her own in the loss against Colorado.
Over the weekend, setter Sarah Nading added to her team leading assist total. In three matches she record 94 assists. She now has 201 on the season. On the defensive side, Katie Turner continues to shine. She leads the Panthers with 146 digs and averages 4.56 each set.
