MIAMI (Sept. 15, 2022) – No. 24 FIU men's soccer opens play in the American Athletic Conference on Friday night, when the Panthers host Tulsa.
 
Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST against the Golden Hurricane at FIU Soccer Stadium.

The Panthers are 3-2 this season and are 1-1 at home, most recently taking down the University of North Florida with an impressive 3-0 victory.
 
Tulsa sports a 3-0-1 record early in the 2022 season. The Golden Hurricane started things off with three-straight wins but slipped up in their last match, coming away with a 1-1 draw against Kentucky.
 
IRON SHARPENS IRON
The Panthers have had a formidable schedule to start the season. Four of FIU's five opponents in 2022 have been ranked or receiving votes this season, with the Panthers notching wins against then-ranked No. 25 St. John's and No. 13 North Carolina.
 
Friday night will mark FIU's sixth ranked adversary and the Panthers' second Top-10 opponent, with Tulsa coming into the match ranked No. 10 by Top Drawer Soccer.
 
SCOUTING TULSA
The Golden Hurricane have netted 13 goals this season, with forward Alex Meinhard scoring a team-high three. The junior also leads the team in points with eight and is tied for the lead in assists with two.
 
Tulsa has played two keepers in 2022 with sophomore Alex Lopez starting three of four matches. Lopez has allowed four goals in his three starts, made 10 saves and has yet to record a clean sheet.

The Panthers are back on the road next week with another conference match as they take on SMU Friday, September 23. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
