The Panthers (1-9) will enter the tournament looking to snap a three-game losing streak. They have competed against tough competition and it has been a great test as Conference USA action begins in less than two weeks.
Emily Meyer and Athina Dimitriadis continue to lead FIU on the offensive end. They both lead the team in points and kills. Meyer has 103 kills so far this season while Dimitriadis sits with 84.
Those two have been key pieces in the offense but other Panthers have been stepping up recently like graduate student Alyssa Wissinger. She is closing in on 70 kills this season and led the team in that category last week against Arkansas. She is also contributing in big ways on defense tallying 27 blocks this season which is good for second on the team.
Freshman Madison Morgan has earned more playing time recently and led FIU in kills in two of the last four matches and averages 2.17/s. Additionally, Sarah Nading continues to run the offense efficiently. She leads the team with 231 assists (8.88/s).
The Panthers open the upcoming tournament with a doubleheader against two teams with a record over .500. It will be another weekend filled with lots of intense competition.
