Three Different Panthers Recorded Five or More Blocks

Piscataway, N.J. -  The FIU women's volleyball team played their final game of the Rutgers Tournament and finished with a convincing 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-20) sweep over Fairleigh Dickinson University on Sunday morning.

The Panthers (3-10) won the first set edging out the Knights 25-23. It was the closest set in the entire match and both teams were trading points. There were four different lead changes in the set but the Panthers went on a 3-0 run midway through to create serpartaion and hold on for the win.

FIU took the second set 25-18 and the Panthers' defense picked up a notch. It was a collective effort on the defensive end and FIU finished with three players recording double-digit digs.  Katie Turner led the team with 16 while Emily Meyer and Sarah Nading chipped in with 10 each.

With a commanding 2-0 lead, the Panthers won the third set easily 25-20. In the earlier sets, Madison Morgan led the charge offensively but more Panthers got involved to close out the Knights. The Panthers closed out FDU when they went on a 5-1 run late in the third set.
