MIAMI (Sept. 26, 2022) – #RV FIU Men's Soccer closes out a two-match road trip, Tuesday night, against VCU.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and it will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Panthers are 4-3 this season and hold a 1-1 American Athletic Conference record.
The Rams come into the match with a 0-4-4 record and are coming off a 0-0 draw against Saint Louis.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
FIU's offense has been clicking this season scoring 15 goals over seven matches. Senior
Stephen Afrifa leads the team with five goals but it has been a true team effort on the scoring front.
Nine different Panthers have found the back of the net in 2022. Three players have scored multiple goals with
Paulo Alves and
Fumiya Shiraishi joining Afrifa.
Assists have been coming from all over the field as well, with eight different Panthers registering at least one.
Julian Hodek,
Yushi Nagao and
Simon Afrifa all lead the way with three each.
SCOUTING VCU
Though winless, the Rams have been a tough opponent all season. VCU has played to draws against two ranked opponents in 2022, including a 2-2 draw against then No. 19 UNC Greensboro. After opening the season with three losses the Rams have drop only one match in the last four.
Sophomore Camilo Comi leads VCU's attack with a team-high three goals and one assists for the Rams.

The Panthers are back at home, Friday, September 30 for a conference showdown against No. 22 Memphis. Kickoff from FIU Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET.
