#RV FIU Men’s Soccer Back at Home to Take on No. 22 Memphis

Panthers have shutout last two opponents at FIU Soccer Stadium

MIAMI (Sept. 29, 2022) – #RV FIU Men's Soccer is back at home, Saturday night, to take on No. 22 Memphis in a American Athletic Conference matchup.
 
Kickoff from FIU Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
 
The Panthers are 5-3 this season and are coming off a road shutout victory over VCU.
 
Memphis comes to Miami sporting a 5-1-2 record, having seen a four-match win streak snapped on Tuesday.
 
KEEPING IT CLEAN
The FIU offense has been strong in 2022 but the defense has been just as important to the team's success.
 
The Panthers have five wins on the books. In those wins they have given up only one goal and posted four shutouts. The lone goal allowed in a win came on the road against then No. 13 UNC.
 
When FIU's defense is on so is the offense, outscoring teams 9-1 in their wins this season, including a massive 3-0 win over then No. 10 Tulsa at FIU Soccer Stadium.
 
SCOUTING MEMPHIS
The Tigers bring a balanced attack with nine different players having registered a goal and eight having registered an assist.
 
Senior Hayden Anderson has been pulling the strings for the attack assisting on six of Memphis' 18 goals this season. The young attacking core of Alberto Cruz and Lineker Rodrigues do Santos, a freshman and sophomore respectively, lead the Tigers is goals with four each.
