GAINESVILLE, Fla (January 13, 2023) - The FIU track and field team saw a number of strong performances at the Jimmy Carnes Invite in Gainesville, Florida on Friday. 

Coming off a mark that was third all-time in FIU history, Michaelle Valentin earned a victory in the weight throw with a mark of 19.60m. In the pole vault, Filippa Miller continued her early success with a win in the pole vault with a mark of 4.05m. In the shot put, Marqueisha Weeks earned victory with a throw of 14.15m, and in the high jump, freshman Celia Rifaterra took first with a jump of 1.75m. 

FIU will be back in action January 19-20, once again competing in Gainesville next weekend.
