FIU travels to El Paso, Texas, looking to bounce back into the win column upon suffering from a three-game skid after a 64-57 setback versus North Texas on Monday night.

The Panthers have yet to win on the road this season (0-6), as this week's matchups versus UTEP and UTSA (Jan. 21) serve as a pivotal opportunity for FIU to get back on track.

The trio of Denver Jones (19.7 ppg), Arturo Dean (11.9 ppg) and Nick Guadarrama (11.1 ppg) have paced the Panthers all in double figures through Conference USA action. Guadarrama has notched double figures in four straight games, while shooting 41.4 percent from beyond the arc in league games (12-of-29).

Freshman Arturo Dean was awarded back-to-back Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors after averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.5 steals over two contests last week.

Additionally, Dean ranks 13th in the nation in steals (43) and steals per game (2.4).

The Panthers 16.7 turnovers forced per game slate them 24th in the nation and third in the C-USA for the category, while tallying 9.0 steals per game – good for second best among the conference.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU fell in its last matchup at UTEP, 79-68, on Jan. 29, 2022, as the Miners have won the past three matchups against the Panthers.

FIU's last win over UTEP came on Jan. 2, 2020, 69-67, in Miami, Fla.
